About Early Adopters Demo

Prescribing opioids correctly requires close attention to clinical guidelines and Washington state rules in order to maximize patient benefit and minimize harm. Our team at the University of Washington is developing a new tool that health organizations and practices can use to access the Washington State Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP). The app, Clinical Opioid Summary with Rx Integration (COSRI), can either be integrated into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) or run as a standalone application. COSRI provides easy access to patient prescription histories in the PMP as well as integrated clinical decision support with Centers for Disease Control guidelines and Washington state rules.

The team is currently working with practices and organizations willing to view a demonstration of COSRI and provide feedback on potential improvements. The goal of this research is to gather input from potential early adopters in preparation for COSRI’s launch this September.

Early Adopters Timeline: (2019: Provider Survey)(Step 1: Prototype with Epic Intergation)(Step 2: Early Adopters (highlighted as current step), Engaging early adopters to help us identify priorities for the first release)(Step 3: Software release and support for use in clinical workflows for early adopters and more input)(Future: Iterative prioritized improvements identified by early adopters)
